KAMPALA: An Emirates crew member has died after falling out of an emergency door of an aircraft parked at Uganda’s Entebbe airport, a hospital official said.
Francis Sekandi, spokesperson for the Kisubi hospital where the female crew member was taken for emergency treatment following the fall on Wednesday, confirmed her death.
“We received her from the Civil Aviation Authority in an ambulance, but she was already dead,” Sekandi said late on Thursday.
A female member of the crew appeared to have opened the emergency door and unfortunately fell off an Emirates aircraft that had safely landed and parked,” it said in a statement.

One witness, Isaac Seremba, who works at the airport, described the fall from one of the stationary plane’s emergency exits as an apparent “suicide” attempt.

Emirates meanwhile said “a member of our cabin crew unfortunately fell from an open door while preparing the aircraft for boarding”.
The airline promised to “extend our full cooperation to the authorities in their investigation,” the Dubai-based carrier said in a statement.

Very shocking and sad. Don't think this is suicide because it doesn't make sense to do it that way when you can take your life in various other ways.

You never know. Human mind works in strange ways and sometime it takes decision we can never think of. Remember that German pilot who committed suicide and took whole plane with himself!?

You are mixing two totally different scenarios. That was actually a co pilot who was suicidal and had previously been treated for suicidal tendencies and declared "unfit to work" by a doctor. He kept this information from his employer and after reaching cruise altitude and while the captain was out of the cockpit, he locked the cockpit door and initiated a controlled descent that continued until the aircraft impacted a mountainside.
This one was an accident and not suicide.
