The match starts at 3 pm today. What is the expectation from Pakistan? Can we beat England or at least not lose to them? Isn't Pakistan team a little inexperienced?

Let's discuss this and everything in this match thread.

Pakistan's team is very in experienced so expectations should be accordingly. Only five players in this team have played 20 or more test matches while three players will play their first test match and remaining nine have only played 6 or less test matches.

I think England really haven't addressed their problems. They beefed up their lower order batting with Buttler but that wasn't really a big problem to start with. Bowling is still reliant on Jimmy and Broad. The batting is reliant on Jonny and Root.

What do you guys this is a decent lead for Pakistan?

England will have decent batting conditions in their second innings, so you'd think they might not shit the bed horrifyingly, and maybe put on 320? With a vintage 78 from their captain.

And I wouldn't trust Pakistan to chase more than 200 (pessimistic fans will probably say this is 100 runs too many). So that means England need to keep Pakistan down to 300 or so here. And Pakistan have to score > 350.

Sarfaraz needs to step up and take responsibility as a batsman. One of these days we're really going to need him. Everyone except him played well. Ok well may be Imam also including him.

He has been intelligent in decision making and has won us the CT. But he isn't indispensable and that we would much prefer a proper wicketkeeper and a batsman who can actually contribute to the team. He is becoming a loophole in our batting line up and that's a problem for him and our team.

we should not forget one thing and that is we are the one who will bat in 4th innings which is a daunting task. the pitch is deteriorating and even chasing 200 will look like 300.

Sucks that Babar has been ruled out of tour due to that injury. He started to look promising and got injured. But we have another good batsman in the form of Usman Sallahudding who played a brilliant knock against Leicestershire so he should be given a chance. He has been with the team for a year in the squad without a chance, now is his well deserved opportunity.

Right now England are in a precarious position as they are two down and trail by 115 runs. Not looking good for them at the moment.

Realistically speaking what kind of lead is troublesome for Pakistan?

i guess 150 as they also had trouble chasing against Ireland. it is generally difficult to bat in 4th innings and then you have Pakistan's famous batting collapse.

The pitch deteriorates over the 5 days and balls don’t behave like you expect. Some Might hardly bounce and the batsman may get out bowled or lbw. The ball spins more in a deteriorated pitch and finally the pressure of chasing the target does weird and wonderful things to teams!!

Congratulations to Pakistan on winning the first test match. Make no mistake that England will now come down hard in second test so we shouls not let our guard down.
