In case someone is wondering hows' the pitch.....well......it's not a minefield yet, but it'll be a minefield by the third session.

Batting so slow is a bit of a waste. Only 6 runs are scored in last 10 overs. I am not sure if they will even reach 150 at the end of the day. Haris needs to play faster or GTFO

It must be so damaging psychologically for the batsmen in the middle and the team when they dig themselves in to a hole like this. They keep thinking "okay we've consolidated, the bad balls will come, we'll try and score 3.5-4 runs an over for the next well" and thing like this, but the runs never come, and the anxiety keeps going up another notch.

It's probably why things like that run out are less likely to happen when both batsmen, or at least one actually launch from their base and start to dominate the bowling.

UAE will never draw for a test match simply because the Pakistani expats are mostly in the country for work. There's not gonna be too many daredevils skipping that for a day in the sun. Its a bit different when you're in your own country. Same would have probably happened with India. Maybe an India Pak match might draw but that's not really gonna happen for some time now right.

Credit where its due though. Haris has shown some great determination, almost 400 ball innings. Babar is batting well also and Azhar batted well before he ran out.

This is a classic Pakistan in UAE batting platform. They try and remove the chance for them to lose by just batting time as long as possible. These players are tactically batting like this, removing New Zealand's chance of winning batting last significantly.

I know this makes for boring cricket but realistically speaking, we have only taken 20-30 more overs than what should've to score the same runs... And how often does an extra session decide the result of a test match?

There's still a very good chance of this test ending in a result, let's not, as Ramiz would call it, "Lose the plot" because they didn't score as fast as we'd like.
