Pakistan vs Sri Lanka - 1st Test Abu Dhabi

#1

I was very busy and didn't see the match today. 227 for 4 is not good not bad. Looks like OK for both teams. Seems like batting wicket and Sri Lanka's bowling is not very good so I guess they must make at least 350.

Do you think Amir is an overrated bowler? at least in test matches!?

Sri Lanka is fighting back and Dickwella is still to bat.
By the way Yasir Shah became fastest spinner to take 150 wickets in only 27 test matches. Overall he is tied with Waqar Younis who also took 150 wickets in 27 matches.

jis tarah ke wicket hai us hisaab say hamain aik spinner aur khilana chaeay tha. mere khayal say unhon nay socha Haris aur Azhar ko mila kar aik aur spinner ban jata hai

fast bowlers ka bhe pace ziada nahi lag raha. Abbas nay maximum 128 ke ball karwai aur Hassan nay 132 ke. shaaed energy bacha rahay hain lambi bowling karnay kay leay kyu kay spinner sirf aik hai

Amir is also a bit down on pace here. One reason could be that it is very hot and pitch is flat.

Most probably his strategy is to hold back on pace a little to get swing in such conditions. Pretty sure he can go mid to upper 140s when required as he has been injury free for a while.

I was reading comments at Cricinfo and some people are unhappy with Amir because of no wicket so far. I have a different opinion that 17 overs, no wicket for 44 is a pretty solid showing on a flat UAE pitch. Although not fantastic, but it's a fair day's work. Have any Pakistan quicks thrived in UAE conditions? I recall Wahab bowled really well against England a couple of years back, but otherwise it's all been Ajmal, and then Yasir, who would take the big bags of wickets, and the pace bowlers would pick up the crumbs. You can't expect Amir to take 11 wickets before lunch as though it was Glenn McGrath at Lord's.

Sri Lanka reaches 400 mark.

We normally shit on Wahab Riaz but I remember he used to get reverse swing in these conditions sometime. Abbas is also bowling well who replaced Imran Khan (not PTI one) who was not bad either.
As for criticism on Muhammad Amir to be fair if he is not taking wickets then at least he stop runs. Problem is people are comparing him to old greats like Wasim and Waqar which puts pressure on him. The pitch is dead (long live the pitch).
